Rosalynne E. Duff, Ph.D, CBCT
Dr. Rosalynne E. Duff (she/her) is the Founder and CEO of Mental Wrap Practice. She is a veteran educator, spiritual leader, and community healer with over fifteen years of experience across K–12 classrooms, higher education, and ministry. She holds a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning (curriculum and instruction), concentrating on Teaching and Teacher Education. In 2019, Dr. Duff became a certified meditation instructor in Cognitively-Based Compassion Training (CBCT) through Emory University's Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics. She has devoted her life to cultivating spaces where educators, students, and leaders feel seen, supported, and spiritually grounded.
A native of Kentucky, she moved to Atlanta to become a founding teacher of a charter school in Old Fourth Ward. Dr. Duff brings deep love, ancestral wisdom, and academic rigor to everything she does. Her work is rooted in her lived experiences— as a 3rd grade teacher and doctoral scholar, while mentoring peers and even her professors with radical compassion. These experiences led her to develop Mental Wrap Practice: a holistic approach to education, coaching, and healing that centers well-being as a revolutionary act.
Mental Wrap is more than a framework—it is a response to burnout, disconnection, and dehumanization in educational systems. Born from years of study in Black women’s wellness and spiritual leadership, this practice offers a new pedagogy that weaves rest, reflection, and resilience into the heart of learning.
Dr. Duff’s work (Mental Wrap Practice) was featured at events with the Mayor and Commissioners for the City of Atlanta. She has also worked with the Transformative Educational Leadership (TEL) program, The CREATE Project at Georgia State University, and Emory University’s SEE Learning Program. She is an active member of Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain, GA, and continues to show up as both a scholar and servant—modeling a life of purpose, peace, and presence.
What is Mental Wrap Practice?
Mental Wrap Practice is a customized, holistic approach to well-being tailored for individuals, classrooms, schools, or organizations, offering consulting, coaching, and facilitation that re-centers well-being as essential to human development, learning, and leadership. Grounded in mindfulness, cultural consciousness, and emotional intelligence, Mental Wrap supports teachers, students, and educational leaders in reconnecting with their full humanity within systems that often prioritize output over inner balance.
Through one-on-one talking sessions, community care circles, or professional development experiences, Mental Wrap Practice brings restorative, research-informed methods to schools, universities, and organizations. Our tailored offerings help clients pause, reflect, and rebuild, fostering environments where people can thrive rather than survive.
From healing conversations to strategic cultural redesign, Mental Wrap helps individuals and institutions align with a new kind of leadership that values emotional wellness, social justice, and holistic transformation at every level of the system.
Because well-being isn't a luxury—it's a foundation.
